Municipal Services of Rotterdam Break Rules when Inspecting Citizens

The Municipal Services of Rotterdam, when visiting homes, do not always sufficiently respect the privacy and civil rights of citizens. This was announced by the town’s ombudsman in his report published last Friday. The inspection teams of the municipality visit homes regarding issues such as debts to the tax authorities, illegal dwelling and growing cannabis. The officials often check on matters other than those for which they came. The ombudsman said that adequate reports by the city officials on these visits are rare.
