Planning Bureau: Dutch Economy Will Shrink

The Central Planning Bureau has reported that the dramatic deterioration of the Dutch economy is unique in recent history. The economy in 2009 is expected to shrink by ¾%. This is mainly the result of the decline in world trade. Nothing like this has happened in over 25 years. Unemployment may increase from about 300,000 now to close to 500,000 in 2010.
