Dutch Intelligence Service Failed Before Iraq War

Recent government evaluations have found that the Dutch intelligence service (AIVD) had misinformed the government before the current Iraq war. The AIVD had copied reports from foreign services without verifying the information in them. In 2002-2003 the AIVD trusted the information of the British intelligence service M-16. But later, a British inquiry found that the quality of these reports was extremely poor. M-16 had relied mainly on information of third parties without verifying the sources.
