Dutch Cleaning Women Treated Worse in Netherlands than Elsewhere

Marieke Koning of the International Trade Confederation in Brussels claims that the Netherlands treats cleaning women in private households worse than in other European countries. In the Netherlands, cleaning women usually work illegally without social benefits or insurance. While this is the norm in this country, great progress has been made in giving cleaning women the same rights as other workers in countries such as France, Spain, Germany and Belgium. The author said that the Dutch government is miles behind those from these countries.
