In Spite of Need for Better Defense, Ministry Keeps Selling Military Equipment

Rob de Wijk, Director of The Hague Center for Strategic Studies, says that the Ministry of Defense is still selling military equipment in substantial amounts while it is clear that more money has to be spent on defense.  Some of the equipment sold is brand new.  In next year’s budget, income from selling such equipment is estimated at 117 million Euros. This policy was criticized by Christian Democrat parliamentarian Knops.
